**Food and Nutrition Cook II Room Service Providence Alaska Medical Center**

**$1,500 hiring bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.**

Under limited supervision of a Supervisor or Director of Food and Nutrition, the Cook II will provide courteous, friendly food service while preparing the required portions of food items for both patients and non-patients utilizing Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles during all phases of food handling. Their essential job focus will be on preparing hot and cold food items, using a variety of cooking equipment, while following scratch recipes and department specifications. Maintains all foods at proper temperatures, during all phases of cooking process Prep, Cooking, Holding and Cooling. Works cooperatively as an essential member of the Dietary team. They will comply with all hospital and department standards and become fully knowledgeable about regulatory requirements in food service in a healthcareenvironment.

This position uses experience and knowledge of proper food handling techniques to prep items used in their area, to serve all food service guests and will be responsible to set up, stock, and clean service areas.

**Required qualifications:**

+ 2 years experience in quantity food preparation

+ Obtain Municipality Food Handlers Certificate within 30 days of hire

**Preferred qualifications:**

+ Specific vocational training
