JOB TITLE: Groundskeeper or Grounds Maintenance Worker

PAY GRADE: 401
PAY RANGE : $16.60-19.44

JOB SUMMARY
Ensure the grounds are well maintained and aesthetically pleasing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to the following:
- General Cleanup- Sweeping litter from walkways and driveways, removing trash, and picking up paper and debris from ground areas, parking lots, playgrounds, athletic fields and other assigned areas.
- Light gardening-Irrigating flowers, trees and shrubs, pull weeks possible pruning.
- Snow removal assistance must be able to operate snow clearing equipment.
- T his individual acts as a representative of The Salvation Army and its mission.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Education: High school education or equivalent
- Experience: Some grounds maintenance experience or gardening
Required Licenses:
- Valid IL drivers license
Skills/Abilities:
- Attention to detail: Ensure the grounds are aesthetically pleasing and functional.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
JOB LIMITATIONS
- This individual will only commit Army resources that have been allocated or approved.
- This individual will adhere to all policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work outdoors for extended periods of time often in various weather conditions requiring good stamina and endurance. Maintaining gardens and flower beds requires frequent bending, stretching and kneeling, which can be physically taxing. May be some heavy lifting must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
