**General Description:**
Under general supervision, provide overall cleaning, setup and simple
maintenance of school buildings and grounds to provide a safe,
comfortable, and clean working environment at the school.
**Essential Job Elements:**
1. Clean offices, cafeterias, classrooms, libraries, gymnasiums,
hallways, restrooms and other school facilities to provide a clean
environment
2. Clean and maintain furniture, fixtures, floors, walls, windows and
other surfaces.
3. Dispose of rubbish.
4. Clean and sweep sidewalks and other outdoor areas as needed.
5. Assist with arranging furniture and equipment.
6. Assist with general maintenance.
7. Provide deep cleaning when school is not in session including
scrubbing and resurfacing floors, stripping and waxing floors,
painting, washing walls, fixtures and furniture.
8. Attend in-service training, as directed.
9. Immediately report any vandalism, damage to school property, safety
concerns or other potential problems that may affect productivity or
the smooth operation of the school.
10. Assures compliance with appropriate safety practices and procedures
and with applicable federal, state and local codes, regulations and
requirements.
11. Coordinate and work cooperatively with staff, other departments and
the public as needed.
12. Provide custodial and related services for school activities and
other after-hours events.
13. Support and work effectively with supervisor and other
administrators.
14. Maintain confidentiality regarding student, staff and management
related information.
15. Support with integrity the mission, vision, goals and positive
culture of Joseph City Schools.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications:**
1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Previous custodial or related experience preferred.
3. Ability to effectively present information, read and comprehend
schedules, instructions and labels and to respond to questions from
staff, students and the general public.
4. Ability to comprehend and follow safety procedures and maintain a
safe working environment.
