About the Opportunity
Chelsea Piers Connecticut is seeking part-time Front Desk Concierges to join our Aquatics Department Hospitality team. In this role, you will be the face of Chelsea Piers Aquatics, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to members and guests. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to create relationships with members, customers and fellow teammates. We are looking for a team player who is always up for new challenges and willing to lend a hand when needed. Aquatics Desk coverage is needed for about 24 hours per week, but there may be opportunity for additional shifts at other desks in the facility (up to 30 hours per week).
Primary Responsibilities
- Greet members and clients in a friendly manner and communicate properly and politely.
- Must maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times including the wearing of assigned nametag and uniform.
- Must have a thorough understanding of Chelsea Piers programs and offerings including facility times and availability.
- Accurately handle Point of Sale transactions and drop-in session bookings for clients using Exerp.
- Answer phone calls and respond to (or direct) inquiries about sports programs, membership, drop-in sessions, event bookings, etc.
- Participate in a rotation between all the Customer Service Venue Desks as needed.
- Provide correct information to patrons regarding directions, site information and other on-site businesses including restaurants and tenants
Schedule:
Part-Time, about 20-30 hours needed to fill per week. Shifts are as follows:
- Monday 5am-1pm
- Friday 12:30pm-8:30pm
- Saturday 8:00am-4:00pm
Compensation: $16.50 $17.00 per hour
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year customer service experience (bonus if it was in a health club environment)
- Must be a self-starter with a strong customer service focus.
- Superior organization, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn new skills and concepts quickly.
- Positive attitude and ability to work well as a part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly motivated individual with a passion for helping others.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent phone and email etiquette.
