Qualifications:
- Earned a high school diploma or equivalent
- Certification of good health signed by a physician
- Good driving record (i.e. no alcohol related offenses) with a chauffeur's license
- Demonstrate aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned performance responsibilities
- Demonstrate a sound, general knowledge of school maintenance and operation
- Ability to organize effectively and plan wisely
- Ability to lead a team with purpose and clear direction
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally
Essential Functions and Duties:
Performance
- Perform all duties outlined on custodial cleaning schedule (see attached)
- Ability to keep and maintain assigned custodial closets in a clean and attractive condition
- Ability to make minor building and equipment repairs to the best of his/her ability
- Report major repairs and/or suspected equipment malfunctions promptly to the Head Custodian
- Report damage to school promptly to the Director of Operations
- Be responsible for opening and closing all rooms and areas assigned
- Ability to move furniture and/or equipment within building as required for various activities
- Compliant with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish, and waste
- Ability to requisition needed supplies and equipment from custodial supply efficiently
- Maintain floors of assigned areas clean and attractive
- Ability to wash windows (inside and out) at a minimum of two times yearly
- Perform such yard keeping duties as grass cutting, tree trimming, shoveling of snow to maintain the school grounds to be a safe and attractive environment
- Ability to check and replace light bulbs; notification of defective lighting systems is required for maintenance
- Ability to work cooperatively with the subordinates, Director of Operations, and other members of the administrative team.
