Groundskeeper

Summary

Landscape or maintain grounds of Casino property using hand or power tools or equipment. Grounds Keeper will perform a variety of tasks, which may include: mowing, trimming, and planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, sprinkler installation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of grounds keeping machines and tools.
• Mows lawns, using power mower.
• Trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls.
• Digs holes for plants, inserts plants, and fills holes with dirt.
• Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs.
• Rakes and bags leave's.
• Cleans grounds and removes trash and debris.
• Seeds and fertilizes lawn.
• Maintains outside irrigation.
• Plants grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
• Waters lawn and shrubs.
• Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts.
• Decorates garden with stones and plants.
• Sharpens tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears.
• Makes minor repairs on equipment such as lawn mower, spreader, etc.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.
• Must be able to work outside climate environment.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must be certifiable by the Cocopah Tribal Gaming Office.
• Pre-employment and on-going random drug testing.

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or GED preferred, a combination of education or experience may be considered.
• 1 year prior experience in landscaping.
