Job DetailsIsla & Co. Midtown is an upscale, Australian inspired full service restaurant, offering specialty coffee and brunch dishes by day and a seasonally crafted cocktail and dinner program by night. Situated within Hotel Hendricks in Midtown Manhattan, this venue attracts locals and tourists alike.
Our team is looking to hire an energetic and experienced Shift Leader who will work side-by-side with the FOH Team and General Manager to lead the daily operations of the venue. As well as being responsible for the overall hospitality of the restaurant and providing an exceptional guest experience, the Shift Leader will assist with various administrative duties like taking inventory, placing orders, managing the cash drawer and overseeing closing duties at the end of the shift.

What you must have:
- A sparkling personality and absolute passion for guest service
- A positive attitude and has a natural ability to work with and lead a team
- Service style that is knowledgeable, approachable, efficient, energetic, and thoughtful at all times
- **** Ability to work 6-10 hour shifts including weekends (PM Shift; 3PM - 11PM) ****
- Ability to deliver food and drinks to guests quickly and correctly
- Full knowledge of food and beverage menu items including the major components of a dish/drink; this may include ingredients and their source, simple descriptions of unfamiliar ingredients, preparation, and/or execution of correct food and beverage service
- Confident and correct use of Toast POS system for order entry and payment processing
- Understanding of opening and closing procedures
- Ability to multi-task and manage various responsibilities: including but not limited to bar preparation, mixing cocktails, serving beverages, taking orders and supporting the service floor when needed
- Comprehensive knowledge of classic cocktails, mixology, and all major spirit categories
- Basic understanding of wine styles and grape varieties
- A team player mentality
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years serving experience in a high volume environment
- Bartending experience is preferred!!
- Experience in elevated service is preferred
- Strong food and beverage knowledge and a passion for the service industry
- A friendly attitude, excellent interpersonal skill, the ability to communicate and a team first mentality
Compensation: Hourly ($15.00) plus tips
Estimated Weekly Tips: $1,000
