Jack and Charlie's 118 in Greenwich Village is seeking a career minded Captain / Lead Server with an appetite for knowledge. Applicant must possess a high level of awareness and the abity to deliver a confident, gracious & personable experience for both our teams and our guests.

This is an excellent opportunity for hospitality professionals looking to advance their career. The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of the fundamentals of classic American, European food, wine, and service standards as well as a professional demeanor and, most importantly, the desire to learn and potential for growth in the company.

The captains responsibility is to take care of guests in an accommodating and professional manner and to ensure total guest satisfaction. The captain is responsible for a specific station and should always be present on the floor making sure that service runs smoothly. The captain should be knowledgeable and passionate about food, wine, and service in general. He/she will be the main contact and ambassador to guide guests through their meal. The captain must have an ability to lead their team and will control the pace and flow of all the tables in their station.

The position requires at least 2-3 years of serving experience in a high volume, fast-paced, preferably fine dining environment.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Significant service experience in an upscale dining establishment preferred.
  • Ability to direct a small team.
  • Ability to improvise and make impromptu decisions in accordance with the steps of service and the restaurants standards.

  • Able to effectively communicate in English.
Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($11.00) plus tips
