Maintenance Engineer

We are looking for a dedicated Maintenance Engineer in New Orleans Louisiana 70121 with $21-25/hr pay for a 6-month contract duration, temp to hire opportunity. In this role, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the facility s mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems are running efficiently and safely. Primary focus will be performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing and repairing equipment, and keeping operations running smoothly. This is a hands-on, fast-paced position ideal for someone who s mechanically inclined and takes pride in solving problems before they become issues. Requires atleast 3 yrs of experience in commercial maintenance, HVAC repair and refrigerant handling APPLY NOW!

Schedule: Monday Friday | 7: 00 AM 4: 00 PM | 40 hours/week

What You ll Do:

• Perform daily preventive maintenance and equipment inspections
• Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
• Repair and replace belts, motors, gaskets, bearings, and other mechanical components
• Conduct fire and life safety inspections
• Monitor gauges, meters, and automated systems for early issue detection
• Replace/install light ballasts, test airflow, and adjust dampers and vents
• Operate manual hand and power tools for routine maintenance
• Communicate clearly with the team and follow safety guidelines
• Work both indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions and heights

Qualifications:

• Requires 3+ years of experience in commercial maintenance with strong mechanical aptitude
• Must have at least 3 years of experience with HVAC repair and refrigerant handling
• Comfortable using electrical test equipment, and performing plumbing installations
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused
