Catering and Concessions Service Lead (FOOD SVC WORKER LD)

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Catering and Concession Operations General Manager, the Catering and Concessions Service Lead is responsible for assisting in the execution of Catering and Concessions events. This position is responsible for providing and leading event operation support, ensuring customer service standards are met, maintaining cashiering service standards, and cash handling compliance. Additionally, this position will provide basic culinary support for the Catering and Concessions operation.

Provide mentorship to catering student staff.

This position will be expected to uphold the highest level of confidentiality as they will serve and lead private events.

This position involves driving, loading, and unloading vehicles on a daily basis.

This position would additionally support other dining units in need of service including both Residential and Retail units.

  • Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience providing customer or guest services in a hospitality or retail-related field.
  • Experience utilizing organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience working with a team to accomplish assigned tasks or projects and leading others.
  • Ability to adjust to shifting objectives and changing priorities, resulting in identifying and resolving issues promptly and effectively.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with team members, clients, and vendors utilizing professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, including working flexible hours, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to use a POS system resulting in credit cards and cash payment transactions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Food safety certified
  • Experience setting up and taking down food/beverage service stations/buffets and serving formal plated meals as a server, bartender, or busser in a restaurant or catering service-related field.
  • Experience leading others in a dining, catering, or customer service related field.
  • Ability to utilize interpersonal communication skills to clearly and effectively interact with individuals of varying backgrounds and perspectives to resolve problems.
