Requirements / Qualifications
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, candidate will clean classrooms, offices, kitchens, and other facilities of an assigned school during an assigned shift; perform minor repairs and maintenance, and ensure security of school during assigned hours. Candidate will work in an indoor and outdoor environment with regular exposure to fumes, dust, and odors. Physical abilities must consist of standing for extended periods of time, bending at the waist, pushing and pulling cleaning equipment, lifting and moving furniture weighing up to 100 pounds, climbing ladders, and reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally to replace lights in high places.
Qualifications - Sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above. Candidate must have knowledge of modern cleaning methods, including basic methods of cleaning and preserving floors, whiteboards, carpets, furniture, walls, and fixtures in kitchens, and other facilities. Candidate must be familiar with cleaning materials, disinfectants, and equipment used in custodial work. Candidate must have knowledge of safety practices and work methods, which include proper lifting techniques. A candidate with knowledge of basic record-keeping techniques is essential.
