Job Description


Job Summary:

Goodwill is a non-profit organization providing job training, skill development and employment opportunities for people facing challenges to successful employment. Goodwill collaborates with many community partners to make these opportunities possible. The Receptionist assists the staff in the planning and implementation of administrative functions including the greeting of visitors, handling of logs, managing communications and directing personnel.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs office management duties, including paging, scanning/faxing/copying etc.
  • Staff support including scheduling, visitor orientation, introduction etc.
  • Assists with special projects as needed.
  • Provides support for shred customers.
  • Acts as Goodwill Ambassador striving to facilitate a welcoming environment for visitors and enabling a positive experience.
  • Ensures visitors follow safety protocol, ensuring individuals entering the facility complete daily Covid screening and providing PPE as required.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma required. Some college preferred. One year prior experience required. Strong computer skills, excellent communication, interpersonal time management and organizational skills required.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Understands recipient rights and the confidentiality of our consumers.
  • Safety: Maintain applicable safety standards, rules, and regulations in areas of responsibility. Performs job duties in a safe manner and assures safe environment for people by maintaining a clean and orderly work area and using proper lifting techniques.
  • Outcome Driven: Have S.M.A.R.T objectives to drive performance and improve Goodwill's value to the community.
  • Stakeholder Focused: Work with integrity and provide exemplary customer services to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Accountability: Have key metrics that drive performance taking a leadership role in maximizing the social and financial return of the community resources invested in Goodwill.
  • Financial Stability: Utilize the resources of the organization in an efficient and effective manner.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience working with persons with disabilities is helpful. A diversified job background is helpful. The incumbent shall:

  • Be able to work a flexible schedule
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Problem Solving capabilities to accomplish the duties and tasks of the position
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Must be able to bend, stretch, reach, and lift up to 20 pounds, walking or standing to a significant degree, involves working in the community and in an office environment infrequently exposed to extreme temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.
