At Alamo Drafthouse, our passion is to ensure every GUEST and TEAMMATE has an AWESOME experience and is EXCITED to come back. Our runners are the key element to providing our guests with a magical full-service experience. The food runner team serves as a connection between our front-of-house guest experience and our inner workings behind the velvet red curtains. Like ninjas in a dark theater, they ensure the food looks as beautiful as the Chef intended and goes out at the right time - delivered directly to our guest's table without being seen.

To be a member of our runner team; you take pride in delivering exceptional guest service while helping us preserve a distraction-free and exciting, movie-watching environment. A successful runner will eliminate a lot of stress and discord by communicating information between cooks and servers. They are the final eyes of the kitchen/bar responsible for inspecting all food and drink prior to leaving the

kitchen/bar to be received by our guests. During and between shows, the team maintains a clean theater environment. While no two days are alike and we may get really busy; we are a group of people who promote teamwork, encourage a fun work environment, and share common goals of creating memorable experiences for our guests.

CORE ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with a smile. The vibe you set could make or break the guest experience.

  • Move like a ninja. Help our guests enjoy the movie by stealthily moving around the darkened theater to accurately deliver food orders - you are a silent warrior. If there is a guest who is being disruptive, inform a manager and the situation will be taken care of.

  • Work with a team. A clean house is a welcoming place and we want our guests to feel at home while visiting our theater. You'll be responsible for preparing the theaters for guests, cleaning, and keeping the service areas organized.

  • Be Prepared and ready to learn. This requires you to come on time and be ready to work, bring food to our guests in a timely manner, and be eager to learn new duties to advance your career.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • You are good on your feet with the ability to stand/walk for 100% of the shift. Some locations have stairs and runners may need to go up and down them often throughout the shift; to you, these steps pose no hurdle to getting your work done.

  • You are dependable: You come to work on time, work well with a team and don't mind working long hours, frequently on the weekends

  • Customer service is your mantra and you will work to proactively identify problems and resolve them quickly

  • You are willing to learn and adhere to all applicable state health and/or alcohol compliance requirements (including getting licensed/certified when applicable)

  • Working with a team is easy and you can communicate written/orally in English

  • "Fast-paced", "takes the initiative", "flexibility", and "high-pressure" are not scary words to you - in fact, challenges fuel you to adapt and evolve

  • You are at least 18 years of age

COOL IF YOU HAVE IT (BUT NOT EXPECTED)

  • You earned at least a High School Diploma/GED.

  • You have worked in a restaurant before

DO THE RIGHT THING

We strive to be a force of good in our company, in our industry and in the world. We stand up for our beliefs even when it is hard. We start from a place of kindness.

FOSTER COMMUNITY

We value what is unique about each other and celebrate our differences. We treat each other with respect, support each other's passions, and help each other grow. We welcome healthy debate but don't tolerate intolerance. We take this commitment outside our 4 walls, creating neighborhood theaters that are deeply tied to the local community.

BOLDLY GO

Like the crew of the Starship Enterprise, we seek out new experiences and pursue innovation in all of our work. We take risks and chart new territory. We learn from our mistakes and continuously improve.

GIVE A SH!T

We are passionate about creating awesome experiences. We obsess over every detail and take pride in our work because we know it makes all the difference to our guests and our teammates. Our pursuit of excellence drives us to do our best.
