Summary:
The Cage Cashier provides high-level guest service and handles various monetary transactions, including check cashing, chip and voucher redemption, and sports wagering. This role requires adherence to policies, safeguarding company assets, and maintaining confidentiality. Candidates must possess excellent communication skills, be able to work flexible shifts, and tolerate a fast-paced casino environment. Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, and frequent bending, along with the ability to handle cash accurately and obtain necessary licensing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform various monetary transactions for guests, including check cashing, chip redemption, lottery, voucher redemption, and sports wagering ticket redemption.
- Provide exceptional guest service while adhering to department and property policies.
- Understand and utilize casino and compliance systems.
- Assist in safeguarding company assets by following established policies and procedures.
- May assist with building cassettes and balancing bill validators for ticket redemption and lottery machines, and respond to guest disputes at lottery machines.
- Handle guest questions, complaints, or problems promptly and courteously; escalate issues to a Supervisor when necessary.
- Enroll/reprint Rush Rewards Club cards and explain benefits and promotions.
- Maintain and safeguard the confidentiality of guest/player information, discussing it only with appropriate department and division heads.
- Maintain working knowledge of the casino, including hours of operation for facilities, to answer guest questions.
- Distribute, redeem, and verify promotional items according to guidelines.
- Verify and update guest phone numbers, email addresses, and other information as needed.
- Verify valid/acceptable photo ID for all transactions in accordance with Rivers Casino/PGCB standards.
- Inform supervisor when additional coin or currency is needed.
- Communicate pertinent information to supervisors, such as guest service issues, payout discrepancies, variances, and other abnormalities.
Qualifications: (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including holidays and weekends.
- Maintain professionalism and tolerate stress in a high-pressure, fast-paced casino gaming floor environment.
- Ability to be constantly exposed to casino environmental factors, including second-hand smoke and excessive noise.
- Ability to perform various physical functions:
- Ability to traverse throughout the Casino to assigned locations.
- Ability to learn and retain knowledge of computer systems, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Constantly and accurately communicate effectively and politely in spoken English with Team Members and guests.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide) without a calculator, use a point-of-sale system, and handle cash and financial transactions quickly and accurately.
Certifications:
- Must be able to obtain a Pennsylvania Gaming License. Rivers Casino will assist in the application process and pays the fee associated with this license.
Physical Requirements:
