Your Role with Keystone Automotive Operations
Keystone Automotive Operations, Inc. is currently looking to hire a Janitor for our Brownstown, MI location!

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a sanitary facility by performing daily housekeeping duties. To excel in this position, you must be able to multitask, communicate well with others. If you like growth and working with happy, enthusiastic individuals, you'll enjoy a career with us!

Responsibilities Include:

  • Clean and sanitize the interior of buildings including restrooms, floors, carpet, rugs, walls, windows, and doors.
  • Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools, and phones.
  • Maintain cleaning inventory, requesting orders for new products, when needed.
  • Empty trash and recycling bins daily.
  • Remove debris from sidewalks.
  • Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions.
  • Use and wear PPE.
  • Responsible for alerting leaders of any unusual occurrence and/or damage within facility.
  • Maintain a professional courteous manner with all vendors, contractors, and fellow employees.
  • Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company. Local, city, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance of all related work.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Include:

  • High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to work in cooperation with others.
  • Attention to detail and ensure accuracy in work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others orally or written.
  • Flexibility to work variable schedules, including weekends.
  • Prior painting and sanding experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic messages communicated orally. May write brief messages and keep simple records.
  • Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive, and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.
  • Decisions generally affect own job or assigned functional area.
  • Results are defined and existing practices are used as guidelines for how to complete work activities; works closely with supervisor/manager who provides broad guidance and overall direction.
  • Prioritize assigned and routine tasks. Handle appropriately.
  • No additional competencies required.

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit for extended periods of time.
  • The employee may be exposed to hazardous situations, conditions, and equipment. Must be able to work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles that may require getting into awkward positions. May regularly wear personal protective equipment (PPE). May be exposed to extreme temperatures and high noise levels.
  • Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements).
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
