Sony Electronics is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for Commercial High-Rise Buildings.

Responsibilities:

  • Plumbing - Clear clogged kitchen, restroom, and shower drains. Repair or replace fixtures such as urinals, sinks, toilets, flush valves, faucets, piping components, dispensers, water closets.

  • Lighting systems - Repair or replace light fixtures, bulbs, ballasts, switching controls. Re-lamp areas as required.

  • Electrical Distribution Diagnose electrical system faults, power restoration, and minor repairs.

  • HVAC Systems Perform periodic preventative maintenance duties to include: replace filters, belts, clean strainers, adjust / replace actuators, controls valves, clean and inspect variable speed drives. Service air distribution systems components including VAV terminal boxes and controllers.

  • Building Management System and Lighting Controls Monitor daily operations. Perform required set point changes, adjust time schedules per occupant demands, respond to system alarms. Perform program changes for VAV and lighting control operation.

  • Building and Grounds Mitigate overhead and roof leaks. Repair doors, locks, windows, blinds, flooring, walls, painting, hang white boards, pictures, screens, and adjust clocks. Replace marketing and corporate communication campaign materials and visual displays. Respond to elevator emergencies by contacting vendor. Compactor support and repair. Parking painting, sprinkler adjustment, exterior light repairs and adjustments. Perform Non-hazardous scrap material handling and disposal. Organize and maintain Facility storage area(s).

  • Personnel services Deliver boxes, move contents, setup workstations, install keyboard trays, key requests, lock-out service, large/heavy item transport, e-scrap pickup.

  • Office reconfiguration Perform minor furniture reconfigurations and assembly. Deliver / remove office components such as filing cabinets, book cases, chairs, partitions. Assist with internal office relocation Move-Add-Change (MAC) requests.

  • Event Service and conference areas Setup and configure areas for meetings, banquets, luncheons, events, and site functions. Setup and test audio/visual equipment, and PA systems. Replaced failed AV system components.

  • Periodic Test and Inspections Weekly PIV, backflow, fire door, and roof drain inspections. Monthly fire extinguishers, fire alarm, eyewash stations, water, electric, and gas, meters. Quarterly fire system water flow and PIV exercise.

  • Vendor Supervision - Coordination of third-party services and vendors such as inspections of fire extinguishers, fire suppression systems, overhead doors, evacuation system, smoke control systems, electrical system repairs & testing, elevator testing and service, mechanical and kitchen equipment maintenance, repairs, janitorial maintenance, site services (Vending, Copy Machines, Shredding services, etc).

  • Computerized Facility Management System (CAFM) - Input requests and respond to service and PM requests generated from CAFM system. Update seating charts in database and workstation/office nameplates following MAC completion.

  • Projects Assist engineering as required and complete assigned projects.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Knowledge and ability to trouble shoot building electrical and lighting systems including 3 phase systems.

  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot building HVAC systems and controls.

  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot building plumbing.

  • Ability to understand blueprints and schematics.

  • Ability to operate a forklift.

  • Ability to communicate and prepare work documents with Microsoft office software.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Refrigeration certification.

  • Log out / tag out certification.

  • Experience with building energy management systems and building space reporting systems such as Archibus.

  • Basic knowledge of environmental regulations.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $27 to $ 36 per hour. The actual base pay offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This salary range does not include any other compensation components that an individual may be eligible for. This position provides select employer-provided benefits, including healthcare insurance.
