Location: Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, 4940 Eastern Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21224
Hours: 3:30 PM-7:30 PM or 4PM-8PM, 5x per week (20-40 hour per week) to include weekend
Pay Rate: $17.50 Per Hour
Responsible for performing a wide range of food service duties. Works under moderate supervision and is expected to solve problems by reference to job flows or established work procedures, to assure quality service standards.
- Complete annual organization-wide safety and infection control training.
- Review and maintain diet sheets and reports from Meditech and CBORD systems.
- Visit new patients to explain the meal service process and conduct weekly meal rounds.
- Distribute menus and assist patients with meal selections.
- Follow hospital and department procedures for meal tray delivery, including consistent use of two patient identifiers.
- Deliver and pick up meal carts and trays according to the scheduled times.
- Ensure trays are delivered accurately and on time, maintaining quality control and patient safety.
- Perform tray spot checks to confirm meals match patient diet and selections.
- Label, stock, and rotate tube feedings on assigned floors.
- Check floor stock for proper labeling and safe storage.
- Provide excellent customer service at all times.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience, preferably in food service, with knowledge of various diet types.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Strong Customer Service Skills.
Physical Requirements
- Lifting /pushing and/or carrying objects weighing more than 50 pounds.
- Stooping and bending.
- Walking and/or standing for extended periods of time.
- Ability to understand and respond to simple written or verbal instructions.
