Happy Medium exists to create and curate the best supplies, content and events for casual artists. Theres a lot of stuff there for kids and capital A Artists, but there isnt much for those that fall somewhere in between. We are on a mission to fill the gap. Position Overview
The Barback/Dishwasher is a key support role on our studio team - focused on keeping our Art Cafe running smoothly, our creative materials clean and organized, and our space prepped for a great guest experience. This is a fast-paced, physical, and behind-the-scenes position ideal for someone who takes pride in supporting a team, maintaining a clean and efficient environment, and helping make the magic happen.

Key Responsibilities
Cafe & Studio Support
Wash and sanitize dishes, glasses, brushes, and tools during prep and throughout service.
Support the Art Cafe team by restocking service items (palettes, cups, paint-a-pots etc..)
Maintain a tidy, efficient dish station and back-of-house area
Assist in resetting tables and prepping art materials for incoming guests
Space Maintenance
Sweep, mop, and sanitize high-traffic areas regularly
Reset and restock bathrooms, refill supplies, and help keep the studio spotless
Remove trash and recycling from service areas during open hours & and take out trash to curb (as needed)
Identify and report basic maintenance needs (e.g. broken equipment, clogged drains)
Inventory & Restocking
Assist with unpacking and organizing shipments of supplies
Refill essential items for daily service (art materials, paper towels, bathroom stock, etc.)

Team Support & Flex Tasks
Support private events and workshops with back-of-house prep and cleanup
Be ready to jump in wherever needed. This is a dynamic, collaborative role
Work closely with cafe and studio leads to ensure smooth day-to-day flow

Requirements
Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Comfortable with working on your feet for long stretches
Availability on weekends and evenings
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Experience
Experience in dishwashing, food service, barbacking, or facilities support
Interest in creative spaces, art materials, or hospitality
