PURPOSE

We are seeking a Housekeeper whose responsibilities include, but are not limited to, cleaning designated areas assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor by performing the following duties: vacuuming carpet areas including resident rooms, hallways, and common areas; mopping and cleaning tile areas including resident rooms and common areas; emptying trash in their designated area; and cleaning bathrooms including tub, shower, and toilet areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Custodial - 60%

+ Maintaining the cleanliness of assigned building and rooms.

+ Performs the following duties: vacuuming carpet areas including resident rooms, hallways, and common areas; mopping and cleaning tile areas including resident rooms and common areas; emptying trash in their designated area; and cleaning bathrooms including tub, shower, and toilet areas. Seeks out areas requiring cleaning; takes initiative to complete the task.

+ Restocking custodial supplies.

+ Contributes to the team; exhibits professionalism with students, fellow employees and others.

Support - 30%

+ Adheres to established procedures to provide a safe working environment.

+ Reports maintenance concerns via work order requests.

Other - 10%

+ Performs other related duties as requested and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

+ High School diploma or GED

+ Ability to communicate with clear written and verbal messages

+ Ability to present a professional image

+ Knowledge of safety equipment usage (e.g. AED, fire extinguishers, etc.), proper cleaning methods, and safety measures essential to the work environment

+ Ability to work outdoors in temperature extremes, work with high noise levels, and must have the ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs.

+ TAMU-CC Housing maintains a drug-free workplace.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

+ Previous professional cleaning experience is preferred

+ Previous housekeeping experience in residence life or college housing

SALARY: $13.50/hourly ($28,080/annually, approximately)
