Job Description
SUMMARY
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for supporting the preparation and ramp-up of series production, executing system procurement, managing maintenance tasks, and ensuring spare parts availability. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the readiness of manufacturing systems and the seamless transition from development to series production while maintaining high equipment uptime and efficiency through both planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintains backlog of planned and unplanned jobs in Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Considers safety procedures when planning and scheduling work and includes where necessary into job plans
- Drives weekly meetings between MFO, MFE, Maintenance Group Lead for prioritization of planned work and preventative maintenance. Screens requested work against requirement.
- Develops weekly work schedule for PM's and planned work from work order backlog in coordination with MFO and Maintenance Group Lead.
- Participates in the creation of PM's, enters PM into CMMS, maintains and improves existing PM's/PdM's for equipment reliability
- Train associates in the use of CMMS maintenance module
- Support Total Productive Maintenance (MM-630.14) implementation.
- Ensures equipment BOM's are accurate and updates as necessary. Completes initial spare part quoting and request of spare part setup on new equipment.
- Develops and maintains equipment entity structure in CMMS.
- Develops and maintains equipment risk assessment, incl. retrofitting potentials.
- Develops and initiates predictive maintenance using risk assessment and historic maintenance work orders to identify location of interest.
- Identifies potential for improvement using available data together with the Maintenance Group Lead.
- Provides necessary KPI calculation for maintenance. As a minimum, this includes: planned maintenance (PM02s and PM03s), breakdowns, set-ups / adjustments, minor breakdowns, machine release after set-up, tool change /
- Ensures proper resources are alerted and scheduled as required
- Participate in maintenance improvement initiatives.
- Receives all work notifications and screens them for proper information including: work scope, realistic priority, realistic requested completion date, accurate entity assignment. Routinely adjusts (cleans) notification backlog by rejecting/deleting notifications that don't meet the required acceptance criteria. As a minimum, this is to occur on a monthly basis, with a follow up e-mail to the originator.
- Participate in training, maintenance and upgrading of maintenance systems.
- Estimates job requirements in manpower, specialized tools, materials and resources and develops work plan with Maintenance Group Lead. Focuses on best use of time and resources.
- Collect Maintenance cost, Downtime, and Equipment Availability monthly. Review for trends Maint. Group Lead. Also tracks availability losses, capacity analysis, actual hours by type, schedule compliance, OEE, job, completed by type, and over time
- Generates and post necessary maintenance metric graphs in the maintenance shop.
- Obtains technical information such as blueprints, instruction manuals, drawings, tolerances etc., to be used for work planning. Identifies, obtains and packages materials for planned work including parts, materials, documentation and special instructions.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or production support roles.
- Strong knowledge of TPM, planned/unplanned maintenance, and system procurement processes.
- Ability to interpret technical designs and production planning documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and structured work methodology.
- Experience with MAE (Manufacturing and Assembly Equipment) design.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM and standardized work principles.

- Interest in continued learning of data analytics and prediction software.
