Le Chene is an intimate, upscale French restaurant located in the heart of the West Village at 76 Carmine Street. Rooted in the traditions of French hospitality and seasonality, we offer a refined yet welcoming experience for every guest. We are seeking a reliable, and guest-focused Host to join our front-of-house team.
Position Summary:
As the first point of contact, the Host sets the tone for the entire guest experience. The ideal candidate is warm, poised, and highly organized, with a natural ability to make guests feel welcome from the moment they arrive.
Schedule:
5 days per week from Tuesday to Saturday
Hours: 4:30 PM to 10:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and seat guests with grace and professionalism
Manage reservations and walk-ins using a digital reservation system (Resy)
Maintain waitlist and coordinate table turns with the service team
Handle coat check, menu presentation, and entry area upkeep
Provide clear and timely communication with kitchen and floor staff
Requirements:
Prior experience in a host or guest-facing role in a fine dining or upscale restaurant
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Calm and efficient under pressure
Punctual, professional, and team-oriented
Familiarity with reservation platforms (e.g., Resy, OpenTable) a plus
