Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing food as assigned by the Director of Dining Services/Cook, using daily menus, and participate in special events.
• Store food properly for infection control.
• Participate in serving food.
• Wash dishes, pots, pans and cooking utensils according to VA Health Standards
• Bus tables during and after meals.
• Clean and sanitize equipment.
• Maintain a clean, orderly and safe kitchen environment with a focus on the dish area, floors in kitchen and other areas as directed and as per cleaning schedule.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• Some experience in food preparation preferred.
• Willingness to learn and work.
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
• Enjoyment in working with older adults.
• Neat appearance, adherence to the dress code and good personal hygiene are expected.
