ResponsibilitiesThe Guest Services Representative plays a key role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for patients, families, and visitors at University Hospital; this position serves as the first point of contact in multiple areas, including the front lobby welcome desk and other designated service locations; representatives assist with wayfinding, answer frequently asked questions, run minor errands such as delivering flowers or personal items, and support special functions such as the therapy dog program; this role is essential in ensuring a positive hospital experience by providing friendly and helpful interactions that reflect the hospital’s commitment to compassionate care; greet and assist patients, families, and visitors with a warm and professional demeanor; provide wayfinding support, including escorting guests or directing them to their destination; answer frequently asked questions regarding hospital services, amenities, and policies; deliver flowers, packages, and personal items to patient rooms; assist with special functions such as the therapy dog program, ensuring smooth coordination of visits; support hospital initiatives aimed at enhancing the patient and visitor experience; work collaboratively with security, patient relations, and other hospital departments to ensure seamless service; maintain a clean and organized work area at the front desk and other assigned locations; respond promptly and professionally to visitor concerns and escalate issues as needed; perform other duties as assigned to enhance the guest experience; Guest Services Representatives may be assigned to various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on hospital needs; work is primarily conducted in high-traffic public areas such as the hospital lobby, waiting rooms, and special event locations; s trong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse populations; ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment; positive attitude with a passion for helping others; basic computer skills for looking up information and assisting guests; ability to stand and walk for extended periods and assist with minor lifting as needed; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as required.
QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.
