Departmental Objective
The goal for this facility is to offer an increased edge for our "indoor" athletic teams during USA South Athletic Conference and NCAA competition, support the personal development and well-being of the members of the University community, and expand the reach of the University to the local, regional and National spotlight.
Purpose of the Position
Reporting to the Building Manager of the Freeman Center and Chapel through the Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidate will insure the cleanliness of assigned areas. Cleaning of field house, fitness pavilion, offices, restrooms, dining area, hallways, stairwells, foyers, lounges, locker rooms, conference rooms and exterior entrance ways, etc. Cleaning the Chapel's Vestibule, Conference room A & B, Celebration Hall, Quite Room and all areas assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Related to Position
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment
- Knowledge of methods and use of cleaning supplies
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to safely lift and carry heavy loads (more than 50 lbs.) in accordance with established safety protocols
- Ability to perform tasks requiring pushing and pulling of equipment, carts, or materials as needed
- Ability to stand for extended periods while performing job-related tasks
- Ability to bend, kneel, or crouch as needed to complete assigned duties
- Ability to walk for extended periods or distances as required by the job
- Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, or arms, often associated with typing, data entry, and similar
- Ability to reach and extend arms in various directions to access materials, tools, or equipment as needed for task completion
- Ability to tolerate climbing stairs and ladders in accordance with established safety protocols
Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required
Education Required:
- High school graduate or equivalent education/experience that equates to a high school diploma
Experience Required:
- Experience in housekeeping work
Additional Consideration(s)
Experience Preferred:
- Housekeeping experience at a college or university
- Experience using machines and chemicals to clean, shampoo, strip and wax floors
Salary Information Starting at $31,200, Commensurate with Education and Experience CNU Information
