SALARY: As per the collective bargaining agreement with OSEA, currently starting at

$18.99-

$23.44 per hour, depending on experience.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a twelve month position. Salary and benefits to be established in accordance with the negotiated Classified salary schedule.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision of the facilities director and/or school principal, perform, and as required, assign and supervise the cleaning and minor maintenance of school buildings and grounds.

This position requires a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment for all students. The successful candidate will demonstrate a dedication to ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed, recognizing and addressing barriers to academic achievement.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalentThree years custodial experience. Working knowledge of modern school building service operations preferred.Knowledge of: Tools, materials and methods used in unskilled and semiskilled buildings and grounds maintenance workCustodial methods for cleaning and preserving of floors, walls and fixturesCleaning materials, disinfectants and equipment used in custodial workOccupational hazards and safety precautions which may include bloodborne pathogens and chemicalsMethods, supplies and tools used in irrigation and caring for lawns, shrubs and treesOperation of a heating plant and equipment

1. Ability to:Use hand and power tools utilized in custodian and grounds maintenance workUse hand and power tools in the performance of semiskilled building maintenance tasksSupervise custodial, personnel assigned to a school, to plan and organize their work, and to see that the work is done effectivelyPrepare records and reportsPerform heavy physical labor, which includes stretching, bending, standing, walking, climbing stairs, ladders and scaffolds; lifting up to 100 lbs. maximumRead, understand and carry out oral and written directionsMaintain cooperative communications with students, the public and fellow employees
