Job Details

The Servers role is to provide dining guests with attentive, quality and formal service. It moves away from being an order taker into providing an elevated experience to all guests. A Server at Marker 88 is also expected to maintain a positive attitude in a high-volume environment whilst attending to a multitude of tables - working alongside support, bar and kitchen staff. The Server is expected to be knowledgeable on all Food and Beverage menu items along with Daily Specials and Retail items, being able to assist guests with any inquiries on those items or restaurant information.

Primary Responsibilities:

Ensure guests are using the beach for dining only and are not participating in non-dining activities, such as sunbathing, swimming, and building of sand castles

Prepares room for dining by clothing tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils.

Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.

Helps patrons select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails and aperitifs; suggesting courses; explaining the chef's specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions.

Transmits orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons' choices; identifying patrons' special dietary needs and special requests.

Keeps kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression.

Serves orders by picking up and delivering patrons' choices from bar and kitchen; delivering accompaniments and condiments from service bars.

Responds to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs; observing the dining process.

Concludes dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant; inviting patrons to return.

Obtains revenues by totaling charges; issuing bills; accepting payment; delivering bills and payment to host-person; returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons.

Secondary Responsibilities (Support):

Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Performs side work as needed/directed

Qualifications:

MUST have serving experience

Maintain a level of professionalism with all customers, faculty and staff

Be knowledgeable on menu composition, daily specials and bar items

Keep a tidy, pristine and hygienic appearance at all times

Be able to carry and deliver food trays

Must be Food safety certified

Have experience in a high volume, fast paced environment

Well versed in customer service

Preferred Aloha POS experience

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($9.98) plus tips
