Job Details Summary : The Lead Server plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest level of service in the restaurant. As a team leader on the floor, the Lead Server coordinates between guests, service staff, and kitchen to guarantee seamless service and memorable dining experiences. The ideal candidate is polished, professional, and passionate about delivering exceptional service and special experiences. They are a consummate team player, able to lead by example, and remain positive throughout service to all team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Exceptional Service

  • Greet guests warmly and ensure exceptional and thoughtful service throughout the meal.

  • Maintain detailed knowledge of the menu, wine list, and specials to offer recommendations

  • Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Consistently executes Moon Rabbit steps of service while taking initiative to integrate delightful service flourishes

Team Supervision & Training

  • Assists in coordinating and guiding server assistants and support staff on the floor during service.

  • Assist in the training of new service team members.

  • Ensure staff adhere to service protocols, standards, and etiquette.
  • Contributes to seamless service execution at Moon Rabbit by floating around the dining room to support team members as needed
  • Contributes to evolving Moon Rabbit steps of service, including contributing to training and guidance materials
  • Contributes feedback to Managers on team member performance, where appropriate

Service Coordination

  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen and bar to ensure timely and accurate service.

  • Monitor table settings, cleanliness, and overall dining room ambiance.

Operational Support

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Assist in daily opening and closing duties, including checklists and paperwork

  • Maintain inventory of service tools (menus, pens, wine openers, etc.)

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Lead Server or similar role in a fine dining restaurant
  • Proven track record of consistently executing required steps of service with little to no oversight

  • In-depth knowledge of food and beverage service, including wine and pairing knowledge. Random quizzing may occur and a failing grade will result in being pulled off the floor

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and train service staff.

  • Professionalism

  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and restaurant management software.
Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary/Hourly ($17.50 - $20.00)
