Job Details Fete is looking for a dynamic daytime host/server assistant to join our team. Fete is a Seasonal New American neighborhood restaurant with local roots and a global outlookwhere classic techniques meet island flavors & ingredients at their best. Our culinary point of view showcases the dishes we crave, using cooking methods from many cultures that all lead to simple, delicious cuisine. Who you are: An integral member of the restaurants service team, the Host is a welcoming, multitasking person who greets every guest in the restaurant, excels at hospitality and quick decision making, and thrives in a busy workplace. The Host is responsible for managing reservations and in-person dining requests, and assisting with the overall flow of service. What youll do: Create a welcoming and hospitable environment for all guests. Seat guests with reservations, while accommodating walk-ins. Assist servers/bartenders in clearing and resetting tables, restocking and polishing glassware as needed. The host will check the restaurant voicemail, return calls regarding reservations, noting special requests, and relaying appropriate messages to management. They should be well-versed in the restaurant hours and policies, and be knowledgable about the menus and daily specials, as they will be responsible for taking togo orders over the phone, entering them into the POS, and taking payment. The person in this role should enjoy a busy pace, assisting in the steps of restaurant service, while maintaining a sense of urgency. What we need from you: excellent phone and communication skills, e xperience with OpenTable or similar reservation systems a plus, previous restaurant experience ideal.
