Department Information

The Colorado Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) has four major operational divisions: Army National Guard, Air National Guard, Civil Air Patrol, and Veterans Affairs. These divisions utilize state and federal resources to provide our communities, state, and nation with a ready military force for national defense and state emergency response as well as providing assistance to our Colorado Veterans.

Description of Job

This position is part of the Air National Guard branch located at Buckley Air Force Base and will be responsible for the cleaning of several buildings on base. The working hours of this position are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and does require some pre-planned weekends for 4-hour shifts. Specific duties of this position include:

  • cleaning and disinfecting lavatories, sinks, and drinking fountains;
  • sweeping/mopping, stripping, waxing, and sealing floors;
  • vacuuming, spot cleaning, and shampooing carpets;
  • collecting and removing trash
  • spot cleaning walls and other surfaces;
  • cleaning windows, ledges, and blinds;
  • reordering and replacing cleaning supplies;
  • assisting during snow/weather emergencies by ensuring floors are dry and securing mat placement, etc.; and
  • assisting with minor facility maintenance such as painting, lawn care, and hedge trimming.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Six months of professional custodial experience that included operating and maintaining custodial equipment such as buffers, extractors, and floor strippers.
  • Must have and maintain a valid State of Colorado Driver's License.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation
  • Must be wiling to submit to random drug an alcohol testing.
  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
