Job Summary:Provide courteous, efficient beverage and food service to guests while maintaining proper portion control and alcohol awareness.

The Details:Position Type: Full-Time, Year-RoundPay: $14.90 per hourSchedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure guests are greeted in a courteous manner, orders placed properly and expediently served.
  • Perform all cashier duties using the POS system including ringing up sales, collecting payments, and making shift deposits.
  • Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous food and beverage service to guests while delivering food and beverages to our guests.
  • Clear finished tables in an expedient manner.
  • Strictly enforce ID compliance to ensure legal age requirements for alcohol service
  • Follow safe practices that monitor responsible consumption rates.
  • Make sure pub operation is set up and ready to open on time.
  • Make sure pub operation makes "last call" and stops serving at the proper time.
  • Maintain sanitation standards.
  • Do side work for pub as assigned per shift including stocking of supplies, cleaning, rolling silverware, and other basic functions.
  • Handle all guest complaints with tact, discretion, sincerity, and involving the F&B Manager as necessary.
  • Adhere to all safety and risk management policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to provide prompt, courteous service and interact with guests from all over the world.
  • Previous cashiering experience in a food service or retail setting
  • Must be 18 years of age in accordance with Arizona State Liquor Law to serve alcohol. Ability to learn, apply and firmly enforce Arizona State liquor laws, as well as Xanterra South Rim Alcohol policies and National Park Service requirements.
  • Must be 21 years of age to pour alcohol per Xanterra policy.
  • Ability to pass company sponsored alcohol awareness class and apply methods learned to guest situations.
  • Ability to accurately handle all types of payment transactions. Learn and operate the Micros POS
  • Ability to follow all food and beverage portion specifications.
  • Available on nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Constantly must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as reach outward, bend and lift/carry 10 lbs or less.
  • Frequently must be able to reach above the shoulder and lift/carry 11 - 20 lbs.
  • Occasionally climb, crawl, squat/kneel, lift/carry 21 - 50 lbs, up to & over 100 lbs, push/pull 12 lbs or less and up to 25 lbs or 100 lbs.
