Custodian

The custodian position is responsible for the cleaning of assigned areas.

Essential Functions

• Cleans bathrooms.
• Vacuums and cleans spots of carpets.
• Sweeps and mops floors.
• Disposes of trash.
• Cleans walls, windows, and surfaces.
• Maintains stock in assigned areas
• Changes light bulbs.
• Conforms to all safety rules and uses all appropriate safety equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Some Cleaning experience
• Authorized to work in the US Legally without Sponsorship

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with custodial equipment

This is a full time position: Monday-Friday 12:00pm- 8:30pm.

The employee is expected to be available to work overtime for some yearly events. Very minimal local travel is expected for this position.

This job operates throughout all areas of the campus. The employee cleans in bathrooms, offices, classrooms, hallways, stairwells, and other spaces. The specific areas of work are assigned by the custodial supervisor.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses basic custodial equipment, such as mops, buckets, spray bottles, paper wipers, sponges, and toilet bowl brushes. This role also operates machines, such as carpet extractors, floor machines, wet vacs, and other specialized cleaning equipment.

The employee is required to walk the majority of the workday, including stairs. Tasks also necessitate bending, twisting, stooping, crowching, kneeling, reaching, and climbing (i.e. ladders). The employee must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, and push or pull gondolas, carts, and equipment ranging from light to heavy weight.

The employee is always reachable while working, either by use of a radio, cell phone, or other device.
