Signature Club Waitstaff will be responsible for providing high-quality food and beverage service to guests in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude to ensure guests have a memorable dining experience while maintaining the standards of service excellence expected in a luxury hotel environment. As a Waiter/Waitress you will demonstrate and exemplify Jamul Casino Resort's mission and values by embodying the acronym F.I.R.S.T. (Fun, Integrity, Respect, Service, Team) providing AAA 4 diamond standards of service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Guest Service:
  • Greeting guests warmly and escorting them to their tables.
  • Present menus, take orders, and recommend food and drink options based on guests' preferences.
  • Provide information on daily specials, promotions, and menu items.
  • Ensure that all guest requests are handled promptly and politely.
  • Respond to guest inquiries regarding food, beverages, and resort services.
  • Address and resolve any guest complaints in a professional manner, escalating when necessary.
  1. Food & Beverage Service:
  • Accurately taking and relaying orders to the kitchen or bar.
  • Serve food and beverages in accordance with established resort standards.
  • Ensure proper presentation of food and drinks before serving to guests.
  • Ensure guests are satisfied with their meals, refilling drinks, and providing any necessary condiments.
  • Clear tables after guests have finished their meals and prepare them for the next guests.
  1. Cleanliness & Organization:
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, including tables, chairs, and menus.
  • Ensure that workstations are properly stocked with utensils, napkins, and other necessary items.
  • Assist with setting up and cleaning up dining areas, ensuring that health and safety standards are maintained.
  1. Team Collaboration:
  • Work effectively with colleagues, including other waitstaff, kitchen staff, and management.
  • Assist in training new staff as needed and promoting a positive team environment.
  • Help with additional duties such as delivering room service or assisting with special events.
  1. Sales and Upselling:
  • Promote the resort's food and beverage offerings and encourage guests to try new or signature items.
  • Upsell menu items and suggest pairings that enhance the guest experience.
  • Accurately handle guest checks, process payments, and provide change, as necessary.
  1. Adherence to Resort Policies:
  • Follow all resort procedures regarding health and safety, food handling, and alcohol service.
  • Comply with the resort's grooming and uniform standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding guest information and resort operations.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months' experience in food & beverage service preferred
  • Knowledgeable of food and wine
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

Team members must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Ability to earn and maintain Gaming License.
  • Ability to earn and maintain RBS Certification within 60 days of employment.
  • This position is not part of the bargaining unit.

  • Must be able to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
  • Team members could be exposed to an environment containing unrestricted second-hand tobacco smoke.
  • Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required. Additionally, Spanish, and/or Tagalog language skills highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
