The Food Service Worker 2 performs a variety of food service functions including but not limited to preparing and assembling food items, cash handling, receiving and distribution of supplies, assisting with inventories, setting up stations and cleaning equipment, serving and replenishing food and leading and directing the work of others. Relies on experience and judgment to accomplish responsibilities. Works with minimal supervision. Creativity is expected to perform job. May lead and direct the work of others.
Food Handling Including Preparation and/or Delivery: This will have been satisfactorily performed when
Proper item is placed on patient tray according to menu selection by comparing actual item placed on patient tray to actual menu selection at all times.
Utensils for portion control of food items on tray line are appropriately utilized as evidenced by proper yield of item served to production sheets at all times.
Comparison of production sheets to actual yield obtained by measuring items produced to items served as evidenced by portion sizes as set forth by the production sheets.
Assistance is provided in the tray line set up for Day Care and all other tray line services at all times.
Special orders are identified and placed on the tray line accurately at all times.
Sanitation and/or Cleaning: This will have been satisfactorily performed when
Steam tables are cleaned using approved cleaning products and procedure 100% of the time.
Tray line is cleaned using approved cleaning products and procedures at all times.
All remaining patient care food items are stored by properly covering, dating, and labeling at all times.
Dish room logs are completed by porters at appropriate times.
General Food Service: This will have been satisfactorily performed when
New team members are trained regarding job positions and procedures to insure team member is meeting the expectations of their position as needed.
Work completed by employees is inspected to insure standard of quality including proper storage, proper temperatures, proper labeling, and dating of foods 100% of the time.
Actively participates in all quality assurance tasks as they relate to food quality and services, documented through customer surveys and direct observation.
Temperatures logs for food are completed 15 minutes prior to the start of tray line and equipment daily.
Knowledge of basic customer service skills dealing tactfully and courteously with employees, physicians, patients and guests.
Other Duties As Required: This will have been satisfactorily performed when
Acts as a backup for other Food Service Workers as needed.
Other duties as assigned are completed.
Experience - 2 years experience
Education - High school diploma or equivalent
Training - Food Handling and/or Safe Food Handling Training, Customer Service Training
Special Skills - Reading, Writing, Simple Mathematical Skills, Computer Skills for E-mail and Word Processing
