Medical Assistant/Receptionist Korean Bilingual FT Days - Closter Internal Medicine

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, and according to well defined policies and procedures, the MA/MR assists in the delivery of primary health and patient care management, interviews patients and/or patients' representatives to obtain necessary personal, demographic, and financial information and identification. Performs routine clerical, secretarial and administrative work in answering telephones, receiving the public, providing customer assistance, data processing, computer data entry and other record keeping tasks related to the patients' registration within the registration areas. This position assists with flow of patients from the waiting area to exam rooms and perform preparatory work on patients to ensure efficient use of the physician's time. Experience with medical terminology and practice management systems preferred.

Job Essentials:

Minimum of two years of clinical experience in a medical office.

Kledge of medical practice and care to assist in giving patient care.

Kledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.

Kledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.

Kledge of safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.

Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments and medications as directed.

Skill in taking vital signs.

Skill in maintaining medical records and recording test results.

Kledge of computer systems and applications.

Kledge of health care administration principles.

Skill in gathering, analyzing and interpreting information.

Skill in written and verbal communication.

Ability to exercise initiative, problem-solving, and decision-making.

Ability to apply policies and principles to solve everyday problems and deal with a variety of situations.

Ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and the public.

Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions.

Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities.

Korean Bilingual preferred.

Education Requirements:

High School Graduate or equivalent

Completion of an accredited program for Medical Assistant

License/Certification/Registry:

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)/Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)/Patient Care Technician (PCT)

Current CPR Certification preferred
