THE JOB: TASKS + RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Deli Counter Lead at Providore, you are first-and-foremost focused on helping customers whether you're suggesting cheeses, slicing prosciutto, serving prepared foods, making espresso drinks, or providing rmendations about groceries. To succeed at this job, you need to be excited about interacting with customers and helping them fill their basket with lots of good food!
You will act as the Person In Charge when a manager is not present and lead the team throughout the various tasks for the day. Daily duties include, but are not limited to: serving prepared foods, cutting fresh pasta, slicing and wrapping cheese and charcuterie, assembling boards and catering platters, preparing espresso drinks, serving bakery items, packaging pantry items, cleaning workstations, stocking product, making product rmendations, helping customers find groceries in the store and cross-training in other areas of the store (floor/receiving, cashiering, wine + beer). You will be responsible for upholding our high standards for cleanliness and safety as well as end of the night close out and lock up.
THE NEED: REQUIREMENTS
~ 3+ years experience leading/supervising a team in the retail grocery or restaurant industry
~ FT employment ranges from 32-40 hours/week. Store hours are 10a-7p everyday. We DO NOT offer split shifts.
~ Open availability is required during the holidays (November 15 - January 1) with no pre-arranged travel.
~ You should be in good physical health and able to perform the physical demands of the job (including standing on your feet all day, safely lifting loads of up to 50 pounds)
THE GOODS: COMPENSATION + BENEFITS
This position starts at $18/hr and receives pooled tips (approximately $3 - $4 an hour) on top of the base wage.
