Kodiak Raspberry Island Remote Lodge is a family-owned wilderness retreat accessible only by boat or floatplane in Alaska s stunning Kodiak Island Archipelago. We host international guests seeking world-class fishing, wildlife viewing, and outdoor adventure. Our kitchen is a central feature of the guest experience open, social, and focused on hospitality.
About the Role
This is a solo cook position. You will be fully responsible for all kitchen operations including prep, execution, baking, plating, and cleaning for 18-24 guests and staff, breakfast and dinner, 6 days/week. You ll follow our tested lodge cookbook and manage your own time with confidence and professionalism.
We re looking for someone who takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality meals, thrives independently, and enjoys a remote lifestyle. The lodge team is small and respectful, and our kitchen is clean, well-stocked, and guest-facing.
What You ll Do
Prepare plated breakfast and dinner meals, desserts, appetizers, and cookies daily
Follow established lodge cookbook recipes with consistency
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation throughout the day
Plate and present meals with attention to timing and appearance
Manage food ordering and basic inventory
Coordinate with Housekeeper/Server for help plating and washing dishes
Greet and interact with guests in a friendly, professional manner
Requirements
2+ years of professional cooking experience (remote or seasonal preferred but not required)
Able to work independently and manage a full-service kitchen solo
Organized, clean, and calm under pressure
Comfortable working in a guest-facing kitchen
Must obtain:
Alaska Food Handler Card
ServSafe Manager Certification
Schedule & Compensation
6 days/week (1 full day off weekly)
Split shift: 6:00am 1:00pm & 3:30pm 9:00pm
$4,900/month + tips
$1,000 end-of-season bonus ($250 refundable deposit)
Overtime over 12 hrs/day $19.50/hr
Equal of lodge tip pool + 100% of direct tips
Room and board provided (private room + d bath)
Travel to/from Kodiak City provided on scheduled lodge days
