Job Description

The Wine Bar dishwasher will be primarily responsible for washing and storing all dishes, glasses, flatware, pots, pans, and other cooking utensils, and will maintain all aspects of kitchen sanitation. The success of this position will be measured by guest satisfaction, cleanliness, organization, product quality, consistency, and timeliness of service. Assembly and healthy maintenance of all food products will be required, while keeping in line with ServSafe Standards. This position will also provide general assistance and support for the leadership, department, and company.

The starting pay range for this position begins at $17/hour and is based on the level of qualifications and relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

Reserve: A flexible, on-call position scheduled based on business needs and operational volume. Reserve employees typically work anywhere from 40-999 hours per year, depending on demand. Weekend and evening availability are required for this role.

Essential Job Duties:

1. Conduct one's self in accordance with the goals, culture, service standards and fundamental values of Biltmore.

2. Consistently keep the Wine Bar stocked with clean glasses, and clear of dirty glasses.

3. Wash and store all dishes, glassware, and silverware properly.

4. Assist in the assembly and preparation of Wine Bar food offerings.

5. Assist in daily cleaning of all food and beverage areas as instructed, including walls, lights, equipment, etc.

6. Assist others in receiving and storing items.

7. Break down cardboard when necessary.

8. Ensure the work area is clean at all times.

9. Maintain a clean working environment, where sanitation, health, and safety standards are never compromised.

10. Maintain ServSafe Standards.

11. Participate in the department recycling program.

12. Clean sink, dishwasher, and kitchen area after every shift.

13. Empty all garbage and clean cans at the end of each shift.

14. Sweep and mop floors daily.

15. Help maintain the dish-washing machine.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Provide general support and assistance to the department, leadership, and company as required.

2. Adheres to Coyle Shopper Standards.

3. Assist with food preparation.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma.

2. Basic math, knife handling, and food preparation skills.

3. Knowledge of food sanitation procedures: ServSafe certification preferred, or able to be obtained within the first year of employment.

4. Demonstrated commitment to providing world-class guest service and stellar experiences.

5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team dynamic environment with time sensitivities and production deadlines.

6. Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.

7. Able to work effectively with minimal supervision.

8. Ability to take initiative and be proactive where appropriate.

9. Ability to exercise good judgment and creatively problem solve as necessary. 10. Ability to be professional in both appearance and demeanor at all times.

Physical Requirements:

1. Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent bending, lifting, and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

2. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree; will be standing the entire shift, mainly in the dish area.

3. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

4. The employee may work in a restaurant or kitchen environment with fluctuations in temperature and conditions.

5. Will enter and exit coolers/freezers throughout the work shift.

6. Will be exposed to chemicals during the work shift, such as cleaning liquids, dish detergent, and others.

7. Must be able to work in a fast-paced & loud environment.
