Unparalleled Preparatory Academy (UPA) is a career-focused 6–12 public charter school opening in Pflugerville, Texas, in Fall 2025. At UPA, we redefine education through immersive, hands-on learning that blends career immersion, leadership development, and design thinking. Our custodial team plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment where students can thrive every day.

The Day/Night Custodian will be a foundational member of UPA’s operations team. This person will work to ensure that all classrooms, restrooms, offices, and shared spaces are well-maintained and ready to welcome students, families, and staff. Whether working independently or as part of a team, this individual must demonstrate care, consistency, and pride in keeping our space clean and mission-aligned.

Daily Classroom & Hallway Care

• Sweep and mop all classroom floors

• Sanitize desks, doorknobs, and shared surfaces

• Remove and replace trash liners

• Dust windowsills and corners (weekly)

• Buff floors as needed

• Restock paper towels, soap, and other supplies

Restroom Maintenance

• Clean and disinfect toilets, urinals, and sinks

• Sweep and mop floors

• Refill toilet paper, soap, and paper towels

• Remove trash and sanitary receptacle liners

Common Area & Office Upkeep

• Vacuum carpeted areas

• Clean stairways and hallway floors (sweep, mop, buff)

• Sanitize water fountains and door handles

• Wipe down windows and surfaces weekly

• Maintain supply rooms and workspaces

Exterior Maintenance

• Sweep walkways, playgrounds, and courtyards

• Pick up trash and debris around parking lots and grounds

• Maintain a clean and safe dumpster area

Emergency Clean-Up

• Respond promptly and safely to facility emergencies such as spills, clogs, or sanitation needs

• Follow safety and sanitation protocols for incidents involving bodily fluids

Other Duties as Assigned

• Support event set-up and breakdown as needed

• Complete daily logs and communicate supply needs

Physical Requirements

• Able to stand, walk, and move for extended periods

• Lift and move equipment or objects up to 50 lbs

• Safely operate custodial equipment and tools

General Requirements

• Must pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting

• Previous experience as a custodian in a school or public facility strongly preferred

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule (day or evening shifts)

• Consistent attendance and dependability required
