Housekeeping - Housekeeper AL
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Performs light cleaning duties to maintain all common areas and designated resident rooms in a clean and orderly manner. Duties may include making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, general upkeep, linen change out, and trash removal. Additional duties may include laundry services and provide cleaning following spills and accidents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Adheres to the policies, operating procedures, the Mission and Core Values of Omega Senior Living.
Provides daily cleaning of main common areas and offices to include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and windows.
Cleans residents’ apartments to include bathroom, toilets, trash, dusting and vacuuming.
Cleans public restrooms and employee breakroom.
Responsible for emptying trash in offices daily.
Vacuums halls and front lobby as required by schedule or as needed.
Performs urgent needs housekeeping as necessary.
Vacuum/sweep mats at front door and patio doors daily.
Through building cleaning as needed to include baseboards, ceiling light fixtures, and other hard to reach/access areas.
Responsible for keeping the furniture in common areas clean and free of dust and clutter.
Maintains housekeeping cart in a clean manner and ensures that it is well stocked at all times.
Secures all chemicals on housekeeping cart to prevent potential safety issues.
Perform laundry functions as needed.
Follows protocols regarding universal precautions.
Will participate in continuing education to include staff meetings, in-services and web based trainings.

EDUCATION
Must possess, as a minimum a high school education or its equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
Prefer prior experience in AL, IL or SNF. Require one year of prior experience in commercial or institutional housekeeping.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
Resident care philosophy with a focus on providing the highest level of quality service and professional interaction.
Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of housekeeping areas, must perform regular inspections of resident rooms/units for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties.
Must be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing housekeeping practices. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixing of cleaning compounds, liquids, disinfecting solutions, etc. Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition
