Job Overview A Banquet Line Cook is responsible for making sure that food is prepared to the exact specifications of the Executive Chef, CDC, and guests. This positions responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing his or her technique so that he or she may move up in the kitchen to positions with more responsibility. The cook is responsible for appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste and fraud. This role not only focuses on food preparation but also emphasizes the importance of maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen.

The person having this position must possess good communication skills, have the ability to resolve conflict and have a thorough understanding of LINE policies, procedures and expectations. Because of the fluctuating demands of the companys operation, it may be necessary that each employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your position, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other employees are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed. Responsibilities
  1. Must be courteous and gracious, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times
  2. Establish and maintain good communication and teamwork with fellow colleagues and other departments within the hotel
  3. Offer guests an enjoyable experience that conforms to the hotels standards of excellence, professionalism and friendliness
  4. Responsible for preparing his or her station before the start of each service
  5. Ensure all needed supplies for the shift are available, ready for use, pre-prepared, cleaned stocked per the chefs standards
  6. Responsible for food prep, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces
  7. Prepare the items requested from his or her station and work with other cooks to ensure that food is ready at the right time, in the right order up per the Chefs standards
  8. Complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene and health standards
  9. Observe proper food preparation and handling techniques
  10. Store food properly and safely, marking the date and item
  11. Clean his or her station and assist other cooks to clean their stations, including disposing of garbage, cleaning utensils, pots, and pans, cooking surfaces, fryers and ovens
  12. Manage his or her own station, setting up pars, keeping track of all food, and inform the chef when any low par stock or orders need to be made
  13. Take ownership of all service issues brought to your attention by guests

  1. High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  2. Three (3) years related experience in hospitality or service industry preferred

Working Conditions/Environment
  1. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  2. The person having this responsibility may have to lift up to 30lbs up to 50 times per shift. Lift and empty trashcans weighing up to 150lbs. Anything over 50lbs is a required team-lift.
  3. The person having this position may have to sit for one (1) hour, stand and/or walk, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for eight (8) hours per day
