An employee in this class performs a variety of routine housekeeping duties in offices and buildings.

• Cleans and services rooms, halls, elevators, windows, and stairways.
• Sweeps, mops and scrub floors; vacuums carpet.
• Dusts, polishes and washes woodwork, fixtures and furniture.
• Empties and cleans trash receptacles; disposes of trash.
• Maintains bathrooms in a sanitary condition; fills tissue, towel, and soap dispensers.
• Sanitizes surfaces multiple times a day throughout buildings.
• Puts up supplies; orders supplies or reports needs to supervisor; mixes cleaning chemicals.
• Locks and unlocks doors.
• Washes walls, window, shelves and mirrors.
• Sets up and takes down tables and chairs; arranges furniture.
• Sweeps sidewalks; picks up outdoor trash from grounds and parking lots; operates a leaf blower.
• Changes light bulbs and performs monthly fire extinguisher inspections and exit lights.
• Reports items requiring repair.
• Cleans up bodily fluids in accordance with bloodborne pathogens guidelines and handles biohazard bags.
• Assists with shampooing carpets and stripping, waxing, and buffing floors.
• Assists as needed with inclement weather and emergency operations.
• Attends training including bloodborne pathogens, CPR, and first aid.

• Performs related duties as required

Ability to read and write, and some experience in building cleaning work. Must have valid drivers license.
