Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $20 - $20 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a Maintenance Mechanic:

  • Recognize/Respond to alarms and execute corrective action
  • Basic repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Follow factory "ASSEMBLY BLUE PRINTS" and put them into proper use
  • Proficiency in the use of a variety of hand-tools and other shop related equipment such as drill presses, bearing pullers, grinders, part-off saw etc.
  • Develop and perform Preventive Maintenance procedures as scheduled
  • Trouble-shoot & repair hydraulic equipment & machinery, including forklifts, dock-plates, conveyors, filling/bottling machinery, gear boxes & pump rebuilding
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Executes assigned duties with minimal supervision
  • Available for call-ins and required over-time to support critical situations
  • Perform assigned duties in a timely manner, including follow-up to ensure work was completed satisfactorily
  • Perform assigned duties following "Good Manufacturing Practices"
  • Assist operators in routine maintenance procedures & training on minor trouble-shooting & repairs
  • Conduct general repairs & maintenance to facility and grounds as assigned
  • Attend Daily Production Meeting as required
  • Maintain records and logs as required
  • Perform operating task and adjustments in the Wastewater Treatment plant
  • Maintain a clean & safe work environment
  • Perform inventory control functions relating to spare parts, tools & equipment
  • Actively participate in special teams representing the Maintenance organization
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned
  • Layout materials and fabricate according to plant blueprints and sketches
  • Use all types of welding rods for proper bonding, penetration and flow
  • Use of different welding disciplines such as; MIG, TIG and ARC
  • Practice proper use of cutting torch
  • Complete Hot Work Permits
  • Trouble shoot issues with the boiler control system
  • Switch boiler fuel from oil to gas and gas to oil
  • Basic repair and preventative maintenance
  • Monitor and understand the systems current conditions

Job requirements:

  • At least 3 years experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic computer skills (ie Word, Excel, etc)
  • Excellent troubleshooting experience
  • Ability to work well with people
  • Strong communication skills
  • Multi-tasked Individual
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision Standing: Long periods (up to 8 hours)
  • Sitting: Occasionally for short periods
  • Walking: Long periods
  • Bending & Twisting: Frequently
  • Lifting: Heavy (50+ lbs) frequently
  • Carrying: Heavy (40-60 lbs) frequently
  • Pushing/Pulling: under 75 lbs without assistance frequently
  • Maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner
  • Maintaining the master list of documents
  • Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
  • Serve as backup to notify any Maintenance Manager or QA Manager of a food quality and safety issue in the event a supervisor is unavailable
  • Position is backed up by other mechanics
  • Follow specified assigned area roles and responsibility as it applies
  • Trained in LOTO, First Aid and CPR
  • Other company sponsored training as needed
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Sitting: Occasionally for short periods
  • Walking: Long periods
  • Bending & Twisting: Frequently
  • Lifting: Heavy (50+ lbs) frequently
  • Carrying: Heavy (40-60 lbs) frequently
  • Pushing/Pulling: under 75 lbs without assistance frequently
  • Maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner
  • Maintaining the master list of documents
  • Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
  • Serve as backup to notify any Maintenance Manager or QA Manager of a food quality and safety issue in the event a supervisor is unavailable
  • Position is backed up by other mechanics Special Requirements

  • GED or High School Diploma
  • Background check and drug screening required
