Harborview Medical Center Environmental Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Hospital Custodian .

WORK SCHEDULE
  • 100% FTE (40 hours per week), Day Shift, 7:00am-3:30pm
  • 100% FTE (40 hours per week), Evening Shift, 3:00pm-11:30pm and 5:00pm-1:30am

    POSITION HIGHTLIGHTS
    Under general supervision, the individual in this role will maintain cleanliness and care of facilities in inpatient and non-patient areas and administrative offices as assigned.

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Cleans and disinfects all furniture, fixtures, and equipment according to procedure.
  • Removes and properly handles soiled linen; disinfects and remakes beds in patient rooms; dust and wet mops hard floors with disinfectant.
  • Empties/relines wastebaskets, regulated medical waste containers, and recycle containers.
  • Performs bloodborne pathogen and chemical spill containment and clean-up according to procedure.
  • Strips, cleans, buffs, and applies finish to floors.
  • Performs in between case cleaning and terminal cleaning of surgical, obstetrical, and invasive procedure rooms including flood mopping and disinfecting according to procedure.
  • Vacuums and spot clean carpets; operates automated carpet shampooers and extractors.
  • Follows written and/or verbal instructions regarding the use of chemicals, personal protective apparel, supplies, and equipment.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    Physical ability to do required work.
