Position Summary

Responsible for washing, drying, sorting, folding, transporting, and distribution of all linens and resident clothes.

Essential Functions

  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds on a consistent basis
  • Must be a fast-paced worker and work well with others
  • Flexible schedule and reliable
  • Multi-tasking skills
  • Sort all linens and treat stain
  • Load all laundry into washer and add specified cleaning agents
  • Take wet, clean items and dry as directed
  • Sort and fold or hang clean dried items
  • Maintain inventory of all cleaning supplies and communicate needs to general manager
  • Maintaining all laundry equipment and inform facilities manager as to any maintenance needs
  • Perform additional laundry services when necessary
  • Responsible for various types of janitorial work assigned by the Facility Manager.
  • Use protective equipment when necessary and follow safety procedures.
  • Communicate with staff and residents in a professional manner
  • Ability to maintain and upkeep inventory of all linen and laundry supplies.
  • Be available for emergency on-call.
  • Must be open to working evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must have excellent organization and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and prioritize workloads.

PAY RATE: $18-$21/hr.

Working Conditions

Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years previous laundry or janitorial experience, specifically working in fast-paced environment and be available for emergency on-call. Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
  • Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification prior to employment.
  • TB-cleared prior to hire.
