Job Summary:

Dedicated and detail oriented Assistant Chef to support culinary operations within a high-end corporate banking environment. The Assistant Chef will assist in preparing and presenting meals for employees, executives, and guests, ensuring high standards of quality, hygiene, and service. This role requires a balance of culinary skill, professionalism, and the ability to thrive in a structured, fast-paced setting.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Must be willing to work early hours for breakfast events as needed and work evenings for dinner events sporadically.

  • Assist the Executive Chef in preparing daily meals, including breakfast, lunch, and special event catering.

  • Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and hygiene.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food preparation areas in compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Oversee inventory of food items and discard expired items as needed.

  • Run any necessary errands, deliveries and other tasks that may arise within the marketing department.

  • Support menu planning and contribute ideas for seasonal and health-conscious dishes.

  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and receiving supplies.

  • Collaborate with kitchen and hospitality staff to ensure timely and efficient service.

  • Assist in setting up and breaking down food service stations for meetings, conferences, and executive events.

  • Adhere to dietary requirements and food allergy protocols as needed

  • Assist Events Coordinator with marketing and clerical duties as needed.

  • Assist with purchasing and inventory of groceries, liquor, and other marketing and kitchen supplies.

SKILLS

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Professional demeanor and ability to interact respectfully with staff and executives.

  • Must have a valid driver's license and no moving violations on record.

  • Frequently lift or carry items from 1lb - 40lbs

  • Occasionally push or pull items 1 lb 60 lbs or more

  • Ability to bend, stoop, walk, stand, sit, reach above shoulder level, drive automatic equipment vehicle, and drive company vehicle.

EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE

  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen; corporate or hospitality experience where food was prepared for 200 guests or more is a plus.

  • Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices.
