BASIC FUNCTION (the primary purpose of this position):

The primary function of the Casino Beverage Server is to provide beverage service to casino patrons. The servers will routinely and continuously canvass the casino, remove empty cups and solicit drink orders. The server will service the Roxy bar dining area, the slots floor and other casino gaming departments as assigned.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Guest Service & Beverage Delivery
  • Promptly greet and engage guests on the gaming floor with a friendly and professional attitude.
  • Accurately take and deliver beverage orders, using a service tray.
  • Provide excellent, consistent service with a focus on guest satisfaction and beverage quality.
  • Bar & Beverage Support
  • Assist bartenders by preparing basic beverages when needed.
  • Occasionally fill in for bartenders during breaks or call outs.
  • Communicate guest needs and alcohol service concerns promptly with bartenders and-or supervisors.
  • Monitor awareness of alcohol consumption for guest safety in accordance with OLCC and house guidelines.
  • Coffee Station Maintenance and functionality of all coffee stations throughout the property.
  • Refill beans, powders, and airpot as needed to keep coffee machines operational.
  • Empty and clean used coffee grinds and drip tray from machines on a scheduled basis.
  • Restock disposable items such as cups, lids, straws, napkins, and condiments regularly.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary working areas including trays, beverage stations, and beverage counters.
  • Teamwork & Communication
  • Maintain clear and respectful communication with coworkers and leadership.
  • Report safety concerns, incidents, or guest issues to the appropriate department leaders.
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings, training sessions, and team initiatives as assigned.
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Promote Ko-Kwel Casino's Million $ Service Standards in all interactions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors and management.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS (objective educational or technical training required; skills; and years of experience):

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Previous food and beverage or customer service experience preferred.
  • Must possess a valid food handler's card and OLCC (alcohol service) permit or obtain prior to employment.
  • The Casino Beverage Server must posse excellent customer service skills, be team oriented and self-motivated.
  • Organizational skills on a personal level and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are necessary.
  • The Casino Beverage Server must speak and understand English with constant guest interaction.
  • Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free work place policies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT (the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Ability to work weekends and holidays. Must be able to work flexible hours, which include day shift, swing shift and graveyard shift as business demands. While performing duties of this position, employee is required to stand for extended periods, and frequently walk, and use hands to; finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Ability to manage stress appropriately, make decisions under pressure, manage anger, fear, hostility and violence of others appropriately. The casino work environment may expose you to second hand smoke on a regular basis.
