Prep Cook/Front-of-House: FT M-F

Creative Dining Services is looking for a Prep Cook to join our team at Kuyper College in Grand Rapids, MI. This role will work within the dining services department to prepare high quality, properly seasoned, nutritious food throughout our operation, in a fiscally responsible and safe manner. This role will assist in food preparation and Back-of-House tasks, as well as service/support in the Front-of-House area, interacting with dining services staff members, students and guests with grace and efficiency, and will be essential in assuring that the essential functions of the kitchen are performed adequately and appropriately.

Core Responsibilities:

• Prepare food such that all food is ready for use within the established timeframe.
• Prepares food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appeal.
• Set up stations prior to meal serving time, including garnishing as directed.
• Serve meals to students, customers and/or guest
• Communicate with staff and/or management regarding amounts of food on hand and its quality
• Supports other kitchen employees in assuring that the essential functions of the kitchen are performed adequately and appropriately.
• Puts away/Pulls stock as needed.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of 1 year food service experience preferred
• ServSafe Certification
