Dishwasher (Sat-Wed, 7am-3pm)

Located in Brunswick, Maine, Bowdoin College boasts a student population of almost 2000. Our Dining Services Department makes everything from scratch and are consistently rated in the top 10 for college dining! We have our own butcher shop, bakeshop, and organic garden that all supply food to our two dining halls and three retail locations.Bowdoin is seeking a Dishwasher/Dining Service Aide to join our team at Moulton Union.In this role, the Dining Service Aide is primarily responsible for sanitation and general kitchen duties that support the overall operation. Specific responsibilities include:Daily operation of the dish room and pots and pans cleaning areaPerforming sanitation duties as assigned which include but is not limited to, sweeping and mopping floors, wiping walls, tables, and chairs, cleaning employee restrooms, all kitchen cooking equipment, refrigerated, frozen, and dry storage area, and loading dock areaRemoving trash and recyclingMaintaining serving line supplies, including milk and beverage machinesWashing and cutting vegetables and assisting in salad room.Stocking salad bar and deli areasRefilling and replacing condiments (i.e., salt/pepper shakers, napkins, sugar, and jelly)Stacking dishware, pots, pans, and glassware for serviceOccasionally assists with other kitchen and catering duties

Compensation:

Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

Standard Work Days and Hours

This is a full-time, academic year-round position, working 40 hours per week for 38 weeks per year (0.73 FTE). The role includes occasional overtime, weekends, holidays, and weather emergencies, as well as coverage during major college events such as Parents Weekend, Commencement, and Reunions.An academic year-round employee works from August through May and is not scheduled to work during winter, spring, or summer breaks.The regular work schedule for this position is as follows:Saturday-Wednesday: 7 am - 3 pmThursday: OffFriday: Off
