Maintenance Custodian

Our client, a community-focused faith organization, is seeking a Maintenance Custodian to join their team. As a Maintenance Custodian, you will be part of the facilities team supporting a welcoming and safe environment. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a proactive approach to facility care, and the ability to work independently, which will align successfully with the organizations mission and values.

Job Title: Maintenance Custodian

Location: Durham, NC

Pay Range: $16-$18/hour

Shift: 8am-5pm Monday - Friday with occasional weekends

What's the Job?

• Clean and maintain all areas of the facility, including offices, classrooms, restrooms, and common areas.
• Perform routine maintenance and handyman tasks to ensure the building is in good working order.
• Monitor and report any repair needs or safety concerns.
• Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.

What's Needed?

• Prior janitorial and/or maintenance experience required.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and carpet cleaners.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
