Starting Salary: $17.59-$19.25 (depending on experience)

About this Position
The Cemetery Maintenance Worker II performs physically demanding manual labor to maintain Gracelawn Cemetery. They also assist with burials, equipment maintenance, general construction tasks, and customer service at the cemetery. Work assignments are received in detail, and work is reviewed by direct supervision of the Cemetery Manager.
Maintenance Workers do have to work after-hours pending funerals.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent
2 years of related experience and/or training
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier
Responsibilities
- Perform burials
- Open, close, and set up gravesites
- Complete landscape and equipment maintenance
- Perform litter cleanup and other janitorial duties
- Stake memorials and settings
- Install VA markers and medallions
- Assist customers by answering questions, directing visitors, etc.
Necessary Skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position
- Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug, physical, and audio screenings
